Introduction

Ethernet/IP Master

Introduction 1:
EL6652

The EL6652 EtherNet/IP-Master Terminal has a switched 2-port Ethernet connection and can thus be operated in a line with further Ethernet/IP nodes. The process data are configured by an EtherCAT master, allowing different process data and different sizes.

The EL6652 supports both multicast and unicast connections. Up to 16 simple EtherNet/IP-Slave devices without configuration data can be connected via one "generic node".

The import of EDS files is supported in TwinCAT 3, but not in TwinCAT 2 (see EDS file). The maximum process data size in both directions (input and output) is 1 kbyte.

Ethernet/IP Slave

Introduction 2:
EL6652-0010

The EtherNet/IP Slave terminal enables the exchange of data with an EtherNet/IP scanner or a master. Both Multicast and Unicast are supported. The terminal can behave like two EtherNet/IP slave devices. The second slave is a virtual slave. This enables you to connect two masters together or one master with two slaves and, for example, to transport more data or to operate with different polling times on the master. The maximum process data size in both directions (input and output) is 1 kbyte.
