EP2339-0121 - Introduction
16-channel digital combi, 24 VDC, ground switching
The EtherCAT Box EP2339-0121 has 16 digital channels, each of which can be configured as an input or an output. A configuration whether a channel (Pin 4 of M8-socket)is to be used as input or output is not required; the input circuit is internally permanently connected to the output driver so that a set output is automatically displayed in the input process image. Inputs and outputs are ground switching.
The inputs have a filter of 3.0 ms, the outputs can handle load currents of up to 0.5 A and are short-circuit proof and protected against polarity reversal. The sum current of all outputs is limited to 4 A.
The connected sensors are supplied via an internal, short-circuit proof driver module with a total of 0.5 A for all sensors. The inputs and outputs are supplied from UP. The signal state is displayed by LEDs; the signal connection is established via screw-type M8 connectors.

Damage to sensitive signal transducers due to current peaks The protective circuit of a digital input can cause an inrush current peak of well over 2 mA during the switching operation. This current spike can damage sensitive signal transducers such as reed switches.
