1) This value is a typical value. The actual possible number of EtherCAT P slaves per port is influenced by the following factors:

  • cable lengths
  • the inrush current of sensors/actuators connected to the EtherCAT P slaves

2) The output voltages of the EtherCAT P ports are switched on one after the other at the start so that the inrush currents do not add up. See chapter Switch output voltages.
