Lightbus master terminal
The EL6720 Lightbus master terminal is used, like the Beckhoff FC2001 Lightbus PCI card, for connecting Lightbus devices to a Lightbus circuit. If the connection is made via EtherCAT instead of a PC-internal card, no PCI slots are required in the PC.
The terminal can run the Lightbus protocol with all features and in the EtherCAT Terminal network enables the integration of any Lightbus slaves. Any number of EL6720 devices can be used in an EtherCAT system.
The terminal has a powerful protocol implementation with many features:
- fast cycle times up to 100 µs are possible
- process data communication optionally free running or synchronous
- high-performance parameter and diagnostics interface (ADS)
- max. 3 CDLs
- same diagnostic features as FC200x (accessible via the CoE in the EL6720)
