Storage of the characteristic curve of the LED as a n HTML plot

With the EL2596 it is also possible to determine the characteristic curve of a connected LED. Using the EtherCAT mailbox protocol FoE (File access over EtherCAT), the characteristic curve can then be saved in HTML format. An upload of the LED characteristic curve is available if a "TeachIn", as described in the previous two chapters Storage of the output voltage in operation and Storage of the output voltage temporarily or in the EEPROM, has been carried out (points 1 - 6 can then be skipped). Alternatively, the entire method described below can be performed to save the characteristic curve.

The procedure is described below:

  1. Set the operation mode in the CoE index 0x8004:01 “Led operation mode” to “Current Control”
  2. Storage of the characteristic curve of the LED as a n HTML plot 1:

  3. Set the Predefined PDOs in the PDO Tab to “Current control (with info data)”
  4. Storage of the characteristic curve of the LED as a n HTML plot 2:
    Select Predefined PDO “Current Control (with info data)”
  5. Preset the set current in the process data under “DOX Current” → “Output Current”
  6. Enable the LED output via “DOX Control” → “Control” → “Enable”
  7. Switch on the LED output via “DOX Control” → “Control” → “Output”
  8. Switch off the LED output via “DOX Control” → “Control” → “Output”
  9. Start the upload via FoE Upload in the Online tab of the EL2596
  10. Storage of the characteristic curve of the LED as a n HTML plot 3:
    Upload via FoE
  11. Name the file “ledcc.html” and save it
  12. Storage of the characteristic curve of the LED as a n HTML plot 4:
    Create the file “ledcc.html”
  13. Enter the FoE name “ledcc” in the window that opens
  14. Storage of the characteristic curve of the LED as a n HTML plot 5:
    Upload the “ledcc” file
  15. The HTML file is then saved in the selected path and can be opened with a browser. On the X-axis, the forward voltage is shown in 0.01 V. The Y axis shows the forward current in mA.
