Temperature compensation
Deformation
The change of temperature causes expansions or reductions of machine parts.
Effect
The deformation results in a shifting of axes positions. These shiftings are not detected by the installed position measuring system of the machine and they lead to inaccuracy of the manufactured work pieces.

Compensation
The temperature compensation is a method to correct the reference variable of the axis dependent on the current temperature and axis position.
The correction values are calculated with following relation:
with:
Current position of the axis
Current reference temperature
Reference position of the axis
Temperature-dependent deviation at the reference position
Temperature-dependent ratio of deviation and the distance to the reference position
