Appendix D: EtherCAT Topology ActiveX Control
The EtherCAT topology view ActiveX control is used to display the current topology of an TwinCAT EtherCAT master device. The ActiveX Control either displays the topology of the currently active configuration or the current topology determined by a bus scan. The Topology control supports three different view modes:
- offline view
- Displays the topology of an EtherCAT device belonging to an opened System Manager project
- online view
- Displays the topology of a currently active EtherCAT device. The topology view displays following online information of the individual EtherCAT slaves connected to the EtherCAT master:
- EtherCAT State (Init, Pre-Operational, Safe-Operational, Operational or Bootstrap)
- Crc error
- Link state
- Communication error
- Topology compare view
There are two possibilites to work with the topology control:
- opening the Topology dialog in the System Manager
- Embedding the control in your application (C++, .Net, VB etc.).
