At least 10 GB of free memory should be available for error-free installation of Windows 11 updates. This is no longer guaranteed if a Beckhoff Windows 11 Image with TwinCAT 3 is installed on a 40 GB data carrier. Microsoft recommends at least 64 GB as a system requirement. Therefore, Beckhoff recommends to use a storage capacity of 80 GB for Windows 11 to ensure that even after the installation of additional software and regular installation of security updates, the limit of 10 Gb of free memory is not exceeded.

Make sure that two CPU cores are always available for Windows. If you isolate cores for the use of TwinCAT, you must not fall below the number of two CPU cores for Windows.
There may be performance differences between Windows 10 and Windows 11 if the TwinCAT projects remain the same. This is because Windows 11 was developed and optimized for more powerful CPUs and therefore requires more resources.
