Parallel use to increase power

Devices of the same type PS9711-2410-0000 can be connected in parallel to increase the output power.

• The output voltage shall be adjusted to the same value (±100 mV) with the same load conditions on all devices, or the devices can be left with the factory settings.
• After the adjustments, set the device to “Parallel Use” mode, in order to achieve load sharing. The “Parallel use” mode regulates the output voltage in such a manner that the voltage at no load is approx. 4% higher than at nominal load. See also chapter “Output”.
• If more than three units are connected in parallel, a fuse or circuit breaker with a rating of 15 A or 16 A is required on each output. Alternatively, a diode or redundancy module can also be utilized.
• The ambient temperature is not allowed to exceed 60 °C.

Restrictions

• Maintain an installation distance of 15 mm (left/right) between two devices.
• Avoid installing devices on top of each other.
• In parallel mode, only use the devices in the standard installation position and not in other installation positions or under other conditions that require a reduction in the output current (e.g., installation altitude).
• Pay attention that EMI and inrush current will increase when using multiple devices.
