Update Information Guidance

Windows images always have a specific update build revision that uniquely identifies which cumulative security updates are installed on the system. In addition, cumulative .NET Framework updates and stand-alone security updates may be installed. At Beckhoff, all production images that have not yet reached the end of support are updated to the latest security updates several times a year. This also applies to recovery images that can be ordered via the service department. This means that the images are always delivered with an update status that is only a few months old. Images in the field must be provided with updates by the customer. This document is intended to help identify update statuses and necessary updates. The workflow is shown using the Windows IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB operating system as an example.
