The EPP2334-0061 EtherCAT P Box has four digital channels, which can each be operated as an input or output. It is not necessary to configure whether a channel (pin 4 of the M8 socket) is to be used as input or output. The input circuit is permanently connected to the output driver internally so that a set output is also automatically displayed in the input process image.
The inputs have a 10 µs filter. The outputs process load currents up to 0.5 A, are short-circuit proof and protected against polarity reversal. The sum current of all outputs is limited to 3 A. The connected sensors are supplied via an internal, short-circuit proof driver module with a total of 0.5 A for all sensors. The inputs and outputs are supplied from UP. The signal state is displayed by LEDs; the signal interface is established via screw-type M8 connectors.
Thanks to its compact design and the number of signals, the EPP2334-0061 is particularly suitable for connecting distributed, decentralized sensors and actuators to EtherCAT P.

Damage to sensitive signal transducers due to current peaks The protective circuit of a digital input can cause an inrush current peak of well over 2 mA during the switching operation. This current spike can damage sensitive signal transducers such as reed switches.
