Commissioning and configuration
The EP9521-0020 media converter physically converts 10/100 Mbit telegrams (Fast Ethernet) from copper physics (M8 socket) to fiber optic (LC duplex connector) and back.
Special behavior is expected from the converter, depending on whether EtherCAT or standard Ethernet telegrams are to be transferred.
Configuration via rotary switch
Before commissioning, set the desired protocol (EtherCAT / Ethernet) and the frame running direction using switch S1:
The EP9521-0020 deals with setting the rotary switch when the operating voltage is applied, unless the rotary switch is in an invalid position. The EP9521-0020 then takes over the setting as soon as the rotary switch is set to a valid position.
If the rotary switch is moved during valid operation, the EP9521-0020 does not alter its function, but indicates this state through its status LEDs, see chapter Status LEDs. The switch setting must be rectified before the voltage is re-applied!
