EP9224-0024
The EP9224-0024 enables connection of four EtherCAT Box power supply branches. In each 24 V branch, the current consumption for control voltage US and peripheral voltage UP is monitored, limited and, if necessary, switched off.
The input voltage and current values of all outputs can be evaluated via the process data. A continuous data log of the relevant data can be retrieved in the event of an error in order to localize the cause of the error.
The power distribution is supplied via a M12 connector (L-coded) with up to 16 A (per US/UP). Several modules can be cascaded via a downstream connection. In the event of a short-circuit in one of the four (eight) outputs the affected output is switched off. The supply for the other junctions remains active. The switch-off and control is done in such a way that the input voltage does not fall below 21 V. During startup consumers with large capacities can be added without problem.
The diagnostic messages of the individual channels can be read by the master via the EtherCAT interface.

On delivery the eight box outputs (4x Us and 4x Up) are switched so that operation without EtherCAT is also possible.
After an error and the subsequent switching off of a channel, the channel remains off after switching the EP9224 off and on and must be actively reset by the EtherCAT master or by a hardware reset on the box (lower M8 connector).
In addition to the basic functions of the EP9214, the EP9224 also displays the voltage values of the PowerIn supply and all current values of the inputs and outputs in the process data.
