Encoder operating voltage (supply voltage)

The encoder supply is generated internally from the 24 V of the power contacts. The encoder supply can be set in index 0x8001:17 "Supply voltage". An operating voltage of 5 VDC is preset. Voltage values of 5 VDC, 12 VDC and 24 VDC can be selected.

The following tolerances apply

Notice

Setting the encoder supply voltage

  • Before switching to a higher voltage, make sure that the connected encoder supports the selected voltage range!
  • Note the output power limitation (5 VDC to 0.3 A, 12 VDC to 0.15 A, and 24 VDC to 0.3 A).
  • To write to 0x8001:17 "Supply voltage" you have to set the value 0x72657375 (ASCII: "user") in index 0xF008 "Code word".
