Configuration of TCP/IP communication

The CU2508-0022 can transmit TCP/IP frames between the IPC and one or more TCP/IP-capable Ethernet devices.

There are two ways to connect TCP/IP-capable devices. These options are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined:

• A device on one of the ports of the CU2508-0022. See chapter A dedicated TCP/IP port
  
• Several devices on one EtherCAT device each, which serves as a communication interface for Ethernet via a virtual switch. E.g. EP6601-0002, EL6601 or EL6614. See chapter TCP/IP via virtual switch
