Determine the minimum gap
The magnetic distance is decisive for determining the minimum gap in order to ensure the greatest accuracy during operation:
- Minimum magnetic gap = length of the magnetic plate set + 10 mm
Depending on the mover type, however, it is possible that the mechanical distance is longer than the magnetic distance due to the length of the mover or the height of the installed NCT electronics:
- Mechanical minimum gap = length of mover + 2 mm
The mechanical distance only defines the minimum gap between two movers if it is longer than the magnetic distance. This results in the minimum gaps listed in the following tables for the different magnetic plate sets in connection with the mover types and motor modules used:
- Magnetic plate set 4-pole
- Magnetic plate set 5-pole
- Magnetic plate set 7-pole
- Magnetic plate set 10-pole
