Air gap

A track section cannot be moved without an air gap between the motor modules of a fixed and a moving section.

An air gap [1] on both sides between moving track sections [2] and fixed track sections [3] is required. The nominal air gap is 1.0 mm and must not be larger than 3.0 mm. For EcoLine modules, the maximum nominal air gap is limited to 1.0 mm.

The encoder system is extended so that a continuous position of the mover is defined in the air gap between the modules.
