Polarized Image

This group contains functions for processing and analyzing polarization images that conform to specific polarization image formats.

Functions

• F_VN_DemosaicPolarizedImage: Reconstructs the four separate images from the raw sensor image according to the polarization angles (0°, 45°, 90°, and 135°).
• F_VN_AngleAndDegreeOfLinearPolarization: Calculation of the angle of linear polarization (AoLP) and the degree of linear polarization (DoLP) from the four polarization angle images for complex inspection tasks, such as the detection of material stresses or fine scratches.
• F_VN_PolarizedImageGlareReduction: Reduction of glare and reflections based on the raw data, for example, to reveal hidden details on shiny or transparent surfaces.

Special polarized image formats These functions require specific polarization formats that can be captured using image sensors with on-chip polarization filters for the four polarization directions 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135°, such as the Beckhoff VCS2002 or VCS2003 cameras.
