Overview
The TF6250 TwinCAT 3 Modbus TCP function enables communication via the open Modbus protocol using a network connection (TCP/IP).
Modbus is an open industry standard that is maintained and managed by the independent Modbus Organization.
The protocol is based on a client/server architecture. The function offers the option of serving as a Modbus client or server:
(1) The TwinCAT Modbus TCP Server enables access to the complete memory area of the TwinCAT PLC via the network.
(2) The supplied PLC library makes it possible to communicate with other Modbus devices in order to exchange information (e.g. measured values, states) and to control them.
