Server configuration

The configuration of the server and the configuration of the extensions can be managed on the configuration page of the TwinCAT HMI Server. The configuration page of the TwinCAT HMI Server can be opened by double-clicking the extension node in the Solution Explorer. Alternatively you can carry out the configuration directly on the configuration page of the server. Open it via the systray icon of the TwinCAT HMI Server by right-clicking on the "Config" entry.

The server can manage several configurations in order, for example, to configure different controllers. You can add new configurations via "Create new configuration".

The configuration, which is transferred to the remote server, can be selected during the publish process. By default, two configurations are created for an HMI project:

• Default Configuration: Is loaded by the engineering server in the development environment and contains all default settings.
• Remote configuration: Allows settings of the default configuration for the remote target to be overwritten. This makes it possible to configure the remote PLC of the target in Engineering, which must be configured as a local PLC on the remote target

During publish, the default and the selected remote configuration are merged and transferred. The remote configuration overwrites the settings of the default configuration.
