Quick start

To start, create or open a TwinCAT HMI project.

Installation

Installation is not necessary. This package is an integral part of the HMI Server.

Configuration of the ADS extension

1. Open the server configuration page.

2. Go to the ADS
tab. Quick start 1:

3. Click on Runtimes to open the submenu.

An entry with PLC1 is already set up by default.

4. Adjust the PLC1 entry or click on Add runtime

When adding, a pop-up opens for further settings.
Quick start 2:

5. Define the name of the runtime under:
    Name. (Used as namespace for the symbols).
    Active whether the connection to the specified target system is to be established
    AmsNetId of the target system to which a connection is to be established.
    Port specifies the port for the ADS connection.
    Use whitelisting whether whitelisting is used. Variables in the PLC are only found if the corresponding attributes have been set on the PLC variable.
    Allow only read access block write access to the system.

The connection you have configured is now available. The new symbols can now be read via the server. To do this, you can map directly via the server or the configuration window within VisualStudio.
