FAQ
What does the FMU exported by the TE1421 contain?
The FMU contains an XML file with a description of the FMU, its inputs and outputs. It also contains the Usermode Runtime as binary files, information about licenses and, if applicable, the boot project.
Can I still change the TwinCAT project after exporting the FMU?
To ensure compatibility between the automation project and the FMU, only the configuration of the SimIoMaster must remain unchanged. The rest of the project can be changed. If any changes are necessary to the inputs or outputs, the FMU must be exported again.
What do I need to run FMU?
To run the FMU in an FMI Import Tool, TwinCAT 3 and TE1421 must be installed on the same system.
Which tools can I use to run FMU?
The FMU can be exported according to either the FMI 2.0 or FMI 3.0 standard. Accordingly, it can be run in an FMI Import Tool on a 64-bit Windows operating system that supports this standard. The tool must also support the execution of binary files. A list of tools that support this standard can be found on the FMI Standard website.
