Configuration of the HID UPS
1. Open the BECKHOFF UPS configuration dialog, and then go to Select....
2. Select Beckhoff from the list of manufacturers and select the Beckhoff HID UPS model/interface.
CU8130-0240, CU8130-0120, CU8110-0120 from UPS software version >= 5.0.0.1.
Close the dialog with Finish, and then with Apply on the main dialog. This will cause the UPS service to adopt the settings and start the UPS service.
3. Then, on the BECKHOFF UPS configuration dialog, go to Configure alarm....
The critical alarm is triggered once the battery voltage has fallen to a certain level or once battery operation has exceeded a certain time limit.
Activate the following options (not essential):
Enable all notifications: This option will cause the operating system to send messages to the users whenever the power fails.
When the alarm occurs, run this program (task): This option can be used to execute an application when an alarm is raised.
Activate the following options!
Max. time on battery before critical alarm: This option can be used to specify the battery operation time in minutes/seconds until the critical alarm is triggered. The shutdown of the operating system is only initiated once the alarm has been triggered. This option should be selected to protect the battery. Set the time to, for example, 2 min. Values between 0 and 720 minutes/seconds are permitted. The system will be shut down once this time has elapsed after a power failure. If value "0" is selected, then the shutdown process begins immediately after detection of power failure.
Finally, turn off the UPS: If this option is selected, the UPS will switch off its own outputs after shutdown to save the batteries. Standard value: Selected!
Turn UPS off wait time [s]: After this delay the system should have shut down, and the UPS switches its outputs off to save the battery. The available HID UPS delay times are placed in the list. Please select one value from the list. The default value is set to 180 seconds..
Close the dialog with OK, and then click Apply on the main dialog.
The configuration is complete.
