Description
ADS is the abbreviation for Automation Device Specification and describes a device and fieldbus-independent interface. This interface was created by Beckhoff and is documented in detail including the protocol. The ADS components are installed together with TwinCAT 3. ADS components (C/C++, .NET) are available free of charge from Beckhoff for the integration of your own applications.
The TwinCAT Automation Interface enables the automatic creation and modification of TwinCAT XAE configurations via the (script) code. The automation of a TwinCAT configuration is mainly available through two automation interfaces and can be used by all COM capable high level languages and also by dynamic script languages.
Enables manual adoption of an I/O topology into a TwinCAT project that you have already created in an ECAD tool during electrical planning.
The EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP) device enables the cyclic, highly deterministic exchange of any desired variables between PCs that are connected by Ethernet. Communication between EAP devices takes place according to the Publisher/Subscriber principle and is specified by the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) (ETG 1005 – see webpage www.ethercat.org).
The TwinCAT Multiuser focuses on the joint work of several programmers on one PLC project.
The TwinCAT 3 Project Compare tool is an application program, which can be used for comparing or merging TwinCAT 3 projects.
The TwinCAT 3 Remote Manager enables the handling of various versions of the TwinCAT 3 development environment on the same computer.
The TwinCAT 3 Software Protection provides TwinCAT 3 Engineering with functions for protecting the OEM application software on Beckhoff IPCs.
