Selection of planes (G17/G18/G19)
G17 X-Y - Plane (modal, default)
G18 Z-X - Plane (modal)
G19 Y-Z - Plane (modal)
By programming of G17, G18 or G19 the plane is determined in which the tool radius compensation and circle interpolation (see also chapter 4.1.3Circular interpolation (G02/G03)) is expected to be active.
Tool radius compensation:
Attention must be paid, that the tool radius compensation is always active at the first two main axes.
Circular interpolation:
After the changing of the plane with G17, G18 or G19, the allocation in accordance with DIN is valid again: X, Y, Z would be assigned to I,J,K. The syntax according to the selected interpolation plane shows the table below:
Plane | Interpolation type | End point in plane | Center point /Radius |
---|---|---|---|
G17 | G02/G03 | X..Y.. | I..J../R |
G18 | G02/G03 | Z..X.. | K..I../R |
G19 | G02/G03 | Y..Z.. | J..K../R |
