Measuring systems, input and precision ranges
The measuring systems for the specification of positions, angles and feedrates are set, depending on the user configuration:
Lengths and positions: mm or inch,
Traverse speed: mm or inch per s or min,
Angle: Degree or gon,
Angular speed: Degree or gon per s or min.
However the programmer has the freedom to use self-defined measuring systems with the help of parameter calculations.
All length specifications and traverse speeds, are, calculated to a standard accuracy of 0.1µm. The maximum traverse range with this resolution, will be -214m .... +214m. Numerical input should not exceed the range of -214 000.0000 mm to +214 000.0000 mm in the programming. This does not apply for individual elements (for instance, parameters) of an arithmetical expression, if the result of the arithmetical expression is within the given range. It has to be taken into account, that the numerical range must also not exceed in combination with offsets and corrections.
Exception: The definition of a circle radius is possible up to a maximum of 109 mm. However the end point of the circular arc has always to be within the maximum traverse range (-2,14 ... +2,14) * 105 mm of the axes.
In the machine data block the axis type has to be entered. If it relates to a rotary axis or spindle, the angles are handled with a resolution of 0.0001 degree. Thus, a range of n * 360 degree with n=11900 is programmable.
With a resolution of for instance 0,0001°, angles are possible in the range of
(-2,14 ... +2,14) * 105 / 360 = 2 * 594 revs.
