Retain data

The NC kernel offers the possibility, to save state data of the control during shut down and to reload this data during start up. In the following this kind of data is called retain data. Examples for such data are:

This retain data are stored in a file on the hard disk. The retain data from the previous shut down of the control are stored in an additional file. So normally always two records of retain data are available.

The stored retain data became invalid at changings of the NC configuration (adding/ removing of an axis or a channel).

Platform data

Platform data is data, which cannot be assigned to a specific axis or a channel but influence the entire NC control.
