Adding users to a group
Allow operating system access for authorized users only The content of the user database is protected against manipulation with a signature. The names of groups, object protection levels and users are not encrypted and could be read. Access to the IPC should be restricted to authorized users via the operating system. |
In this example, a user is added to the "GRP_OEMDev" group. The procedure also applies analogously to other groups.
A user can also be a member of several groups.
Click the Add... button on the Users tab in the configuration console:
A new user can now be created and the desired group membership can be set:
The user can also be a Windows account (domain user); in this case, the associated Windows password can be used for automatic login.
From Build 4024.8 Users can also be created in so-called "extensions" of user databases. This is described here. |
The creation of new user groups and the adaptation of existing ones is explained in the chapter "Creating and editing user groups".
