Setting up a time server
If you wish to set up a computer to function as a time server, several systems such as Windows2000-Server and XP-Server support this.
With other systems, such as Windows2000 Professional or XP Professional, this feature can be activated via the registry settings.
Proceed as follows:
- 1. Click Start > Run…
- 2. Enter regedit in the input field.
- 3. Confirm this action with OK.
- 4. Click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services > lanmanserver > parameters.
- 5. Double-click TimeSource.
- 6. Enter…
- 7. Restart the system.
- It now acts as a time server.
