In this chapter you will find information on how to personalize your Beckhoff CE device and protect it against unauthorized access. In addition, there is a description of how you can connect your CE device to other computers or adjust it over the Internet with the help of the Beckhoff Device Manager. At the end of the chapter we explain how you can implement further applications and update the CE images.

The user interface

After starting the Beckhoff CE device for the first time, the user interface looks like this:
