Operating System

Devices of the CX1000/CX1020 series are delivered with a preinstalled operating system depending on the order options. The possible options contain Microsoft Windows XP Embedded or Windows CE.NET.

The license number of the operating system of a CX1000/CX1020/CX9000/Ethernetpanel is visible on the Windows license sticker which is placed at the outside of the device. This original sticker from the Mircosoft Company describes the so-called COA (Certificate of Authenticity). It is not allowed to remove it from the device or to assign it to other devices. The sticker documents the existence of a legal operating system version.

TwinCAT Software License

The TwinCAT software license contained in the CX1000/CX1020/CX9000/Ethernetpanel is scanable at the ordering name on the front of the device. It is delivered factory-installed.

The last digit of the CPU module provides information about the factory-installed activated TwinCAT level. Devices with the name CX10xx-0xx1 are preloaded with a TwinCAT PLC license, devices with the name CX10xx-0xx2 are preloaded with a TwinCAT PLC and NC PTP license, devices with the name CX10xx-0xx3 are preloaded with TwinCAT NCI License.
If the last digit is zero the device has no TwinCAT license.

Note:

The TwinCAT license is programmed into the device hardware and can not be changed by the user. A change of the TwinCAT Level ( e.g. from PLC to PTP or vice versa) is only possible by the factory.
