Update of Windows Embedded Images
The embedded PCs are delivered in an executable basic state, nevertheless it may be necessary to use a more recent Windows Embedded Image e.g. for the support of new drivers. This describes how to update the Windows Embedded image.
Requirement:
- The Windows Embedded Images are available on the Beckhoff FTP server for download as a zip file. This zip file is password protected for licensing reasons. It is thus ensured that this image is only used for already licensed Windows Embedded devices. You will receive the necessary password from the technical support branch responsible for you after identifying yourself as a customer and stating the device serial number and MACID.
- A Windows Embedded operating system was already installed on the compact flash of the CX device, so there is a bootable medium.
- Beckhoff Service Tool (BST) for restoring the unpacked Tib image to the CompactFlash (CF).
To restore the downloaded image from the Beckhoff FTP server, you must first boot the Beckhoff Service Tool (BST) stick. When the BST is loaded, you can easily restore the image via the Restore image button.
Information Detailed instructions can be found in the Beckhoff Service Tool (BST) documentation. |
