TwinCAT Licensing Under Windows Embedded On CX Hardware

Licensing of TwinCAT on the embedded PC hardware (CX1000, CX1020, Ethernetpanel,...) is handled differently from the usual registration of TwinCAT on a industrial PC.

• Industrial PC:
  After the TwinCAT installation, TwinCAT is available for a 30-day trial. An unlimited activation is done if a corresponding "Registration Key" is entered for the TwinCAT software key "System ID".
• embedded PC Hardware (CX1000, CX1020, Ethernetpanel,...):
  The TwinCAT licensing for the ordered TwinCAT level is already entered into the CX hardware in the factory. Conveniently, further activation with "System ID" and "Registration Key" is therefore not required..
  
  TwinCAT Update (Build Update):
  A TwinCAT update, i.e. a newer TwinCAT version, can be installed at any time. The registration in the CX hardware remains in this case and the CX device starts with the same TwinCAT level.
  
  TwinCAT Level Modification:
  An existing TwinCAT level can be modified. For this purpose, the TwinCAT registration procedure on the PC can be used. By entering a "Registration Key" that matches the "System ID", TwinCAT starts in the desired new TwinCAT level.
  

Windows Embedded: Default User and Password

By default, a user and a password are entered in all Windows Embedded images. This is necessary, for example to use "Remote Desktop" to work with the embedded device under Windows Embedded .
