Test and operation in Windows 10

The configuration is decisive for how the RFID reader is controlled. If you have chosen "USB Virtual COM Port" as the interface during configuration, check which COM port is assigned to the RFID reader in the device manager of your Windows system. The RFID reader is recognized as a "USB Serial Device (COMx)". The COM port mentioned there is subsequently used for communication with the reader.

You have two options for testing the RFID reader functions:

• ID-engine explorer: Tool Suite software for "Test Autoread Configuration" or "Test Sample Card"
• Serial terminal programs: Access to the port

If you have chosen "USB Keyboard Emulation" as the interface during configuration, an HID keyboard is added to the Device Manager by default. You can transfer set areas of the card technology (e.g. UID) directly like a keyboard entry. This is how you fill in input fields for authentication on the Control Panel or Industrial PC.
