N+1 Redundancy

Notes on parallel use for N + 1 redundancy Note that leakage current, EMI, inrush current and harmonics increase when using multiple devices. For N + 1 redundancy the ambient temperature is not allowed to exceed +60°C.

Redundancy systems for higher power demand are usually built in a N + 1 method. E.g. four devices, each rated for 10 A, are paralleled to build a 30 A redundant system.

• Keep an installation clearance of 15 mm (left / right) between two power supplies.
• Do not install the power supplies on top of each other.
