Disabling automatic certificate creation

The automatic certificate creation must first be disabled so that your own certificates are installed. The settings are made with the aid of the Beckhoff Device Manager, which is called either locally on the industrial PC or remotely.

Proceed as follows:

1. Start the Beckhoff Device Manager by entering the URL http://localhost/config in the search box of a browser if you are working locally on an industrial PC. Enter https://<IP-Adresse>/config if you prefer a remote connection.

2. Click on the Security tile on the left and then on Certificate.

3. At Auto-generate certificate, select Disabled.

4. Click the check mark in the upper right corner to apply the changes.

Automatic generation of certificates has been disabled. In the next step, a certificate can be requested from a certificate authority (CA) (see: Requesting an HTTPS certificate).
