Whitelisting for programs

Application whitelisting, such as is available for Windows with Applocker or so-called software restriction policies (SRP), is not available for TwinCAT/BSD. For Unix systems there are different approaches to realize an application whitelisting. These are less popular compared to Windows. The reason for this is an increased complexity due to command line and scripts in Unix compared to the mostly graphical input under Windows. Instead, pay close attention to the source of the packages and check what packages are installed on the system (see: Removing components that are no longer needed).
