Parameter definition
Homing is defined for a specific axis in the axis parameter list of one axis. According to their tasks, these parameters are broken down into
- system parameters and
- sequence parameters.
System parameters
Settings of the drive system specific to the machine are defined with the system parameters. The following information is communicated to the controller with these parameters:
- Is the axis equipped with a reference cam?
- Is a zero pulse or cam signal used for referencing?
- Which signal level does the cam supply when actuated?
Sequence parameters
The sequence parameters define response during homing. For example, this includes
- the speed at which the axis travels in the individual homing phases,
- the direction of travel in which homing is begun or executed, and
- the number of phases (single or several phases) up to complete referencing.
Effectiveness of the parameters
Chapter "Effectiveness of parameters" provides an overview of the effectiveness of the homing parameters depending on the homing strategy used.
