Defect if the update is interrupted

If the firmware update is interrupted, the bootloader may be damaged. This renders the ER9320-0022 unusable.

Ensure that the power supply is stable and not interrupted during firmware updates.

Firmware images are provided by Beckhoff Service. Perform the update only after consulting with Beckhoff Service.

Requirements

Card reader for microSD cards.

Procedure

1. Switch off the supply voltage

2. Remove the microSD card from the card slot of the ER9320-0022

3. Insert the microSD card into a microSD card slot on the PC

4. Delete all files and folders on the microSD card

5. Copy all files and folders of the new firmware image to the empty microSD card

6. Insert the microSD card back into the ER9320-0022

7. Switch on the supply voltage

The ER9320-0022 starts and saves the current hardware configuration. The data structure required for operation is generated and stored on the microSD card. The image has now been successfully updated.
