Introduction

In modular and often dynamic systems such as Hot Connect groups, individual devices within a network must be uniquely addressed. Products with rotary selection switches make it quick and easy to assign addresses that identify the device within the system. The EtherCAT P Box modules with ID switch feature three hexadecimal rotary addressing switches. In this way, an individual address from 0...4095 can be set, allowing unique identification regardless of installation position, as required by some device profiles for certain industries, such as the semiconductor industry.
