Creating a Hot Connect group

You can use an EtherCAT P Box with ID switch to create a Hot Connect group.

Proceed as follows:

1. Arrange the EtherCAT devices so that the box with ID switch is the first EtherCAT device in the planned Hot Connect group.
2. Right-click on the box in the Solution Explorer and select "Add to HotConnect group" in the context menu.
Creating a Hot Connect group 1:
3. Select the EtherCAT devices for the Hot Connect group in the "Select Connected Slaves" field on the left.
Creating a Hot Connect group 2:
4. Ensure that the checkboxes are set correctly:
- check in "Identification Value".
- check removed in "EtherCAT Addr. of previous Slave".
Creating a Hot Connect group 3:
5. Set the desired ID under "Identification Value" (0 ... 4095dec).
Creating a Hot Connect group 4:
If this ID matches the ID set via the ID switches, the Hot Connect group is successfully identified.
