EL9550, EL9550-0010, EL9550-0012 – Introduction
Surge filter terminals System and field supply, up to 10 A
The surge filter terminals protect the EtherCAT Terminals from line-bound surge voltages that can occur on the supply lines due to high-energy, dynamic disturbances, such as switching surges from inductive loads or overvoltage from indirect lightning strikes.
The EL955x terminals have a filter for the 24 V DC field and system supply.
With the EL9550 and EL9550-0012 EtherCAT Terminals, the terminal station can be protected against damage in particularly harsh environments, such as onshore and offshore areas.
The EL9550-0010 has a total field and system supply of 10 A.
It is especially suitable for protecting digital terminals.
The EL9540-0010 is especially suitable for protecting analog terminals.
Both terminals can be used in shipbuilding, for example.
With the EL9550-0012 variant, the current load for both the field supply and the system supply is 10 A each. The higher system supply is advantageous when supplying embedded PCs, which have a higher current consumption.
Other surge filter terminals
With the EL9540 series, additional terminals with a filter for the 24 V DC field supply are available (see chapter EL9540, EL9540-0010).
