Introduction
Fig.4: EL407xEtherCAT Terminals, analog output, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, 2 ksps
The analog output terminals EL4072, EL4074 and EL4078 output 10 V/20 mA standard signals with a resolution of 16 bit and up to 2000 values per second. Each channel can be parameterized individually via the controller/TwinCAT. All standard signals in the range of ±10 V and ±20 mA can be output per channel, such as 0...10 V and 4…20 mA. Each channel reports a short circuit in the voltage output or a wire break in the current output. The current outputs can also drive high load impedances. The outputs are single-ended, which means that each channel connection point is already connected to +24 V or GND in the terminal and does not need to be wired separately. The EL4072 and EL4074 have 24 V/0 V contacts for the supply of the actuators. With a technical output range of ±107% of the nominal range, the channels can even transport unconventional setpoints, such as for error reporting purposes.
The terminals mentioned are largely identical in function except for the number of channels and are therefore referred to as EL407x in the following.
