Steinhart-Hart equation (0x80n00:19, entry 0x113)
The Steinhart-Hart equation can be used for NTC sensors (thermistors), i.e. RTD elements with negative coefficient k.
The coefficients C1, C2 and C4 can either be taken directly from the manufacturer data or calculated.
A sample file (Download: ZIP) is available for calculating the Steinhart-Hart parameters. For determining the parameters the resistance values at three known temperatures are required. These can either be taken from the manufacturer data or measured directly at the sensor. Enter the calculated parameters in the CoE directory 0x8004. In most cases the parameter C3 is close to zero, i.e. negligible. It is therefore not used in the sample file calculation.
