Configuration via modules/slots procedure
In the "Slots" tab, a certain number of ModuleGroups (right side) are available for configuration per SlotGroup (left side).
A maximum of one ModuleGroup can be assigned to a SlotGroup, which in turn determines the operation mode. The number of "ModuleGroups" available for configuration and the functions available with them are described in the respective chapter of the SlotGroup.
The ModuleGroup is assigned via the "<" button.
ModuleGroups can be removed with the "X" button.

The process data and the setting objects are automatically adjusted according to the selected "ModuleGroup", in the respective SlotGroup. Thus the TwinCAT system must be in ConfigMode in order to carry out the configuration.
Explanation of terms "SlotGroup", "Slot", "ModuleGroup", "Module",
Name | Meaning |
---|---|
SlotGroup | A "SlotGroup" summarizes the number of available slots in this group. This number is shown behind the SlotGroup in brackets. |
Slot | A maximum of one "Module" can be assigned per slot, this is done automatically by assigning the ModuleGroups to the "SlotGroups". A "module" can occupy one or more slots, depending on its functionality (e.g. the module "CNT" occupies two slots). |
ModuleGroup | A ModuleGroup summarizes the number of available modules in this group. The operation mode of the group is explained in short form in the "Description" section. |
Module | Each "Module" has a defined number "ModuleIdent", which is firmly linked to an operation mode, as well as the corresponding process data and setting objects. If a "Module" is used more than once in a "ModuleGroup", it will be displayed accordingly many times. |
