The EL1852 EtherCAT Terminal combines eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs in one device. The inputs have a filter of 3.0 ms. The outputs process load currents up to 0.5 A, are short-circuit proof and protected against polarity reversal. The signal states of the inputs and outputs are displayed by 16 LEDs.

A 20-pin connector enables the secure connection of plug connectors using insulation displacement contact, as is usual for ribbon cables and special round cables. The input characteristic conforms to the type-3 specification and guarantees minimum power dissipation.
