In the EL1202, optimization for fast signal transfer, with a propagation time TON/TOFF < 1 µs, means that the terminal reads the voltage present at the inputs as soon as the EtherCAT communication frame reaches the ESC. The signals that occur between the two communication cycles are ignored. The EL1202 appears as a normal, 2-channel, digital 24 V input terminal without any other special features. DC is switched off, which means that this terminal cannot operate as a DC master clock. No other settings can be made on this terminal.
