Hardware requirements

• The Beckhoff Device Manager only runs on Beckhoff IPCs or Beckhoff Embedded PCs. It does not run on other IPCs/PCs.
• A prerequisite is the use of a Beckhoff image, as this contains special settings for using the Beckhoff Device Manager.
• The Device Manager is included in all current Beckhoff standard images under Windows Embedded (Standard and Compact).

Software requirements

• The current version of the Device Manager contains optimizations and improvements compared to previous versions. The current version of the Device Manager is available from Beckhoff Service.
• The Device Manager is usually not pre-installed on Beckhoff images with Windows desktop versions (Windows 7 Professional etc.). In this case you can install the Beckhoff Device Manager via a setup program. The Setup facility is only available for "big” Windows systems, not for Windows CE or Windows Embedded Compact. An update is not possible for Windows CE systems. In this case always use the latest image.
• Non-Beckhoff images are not supported.
