Configuring the EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP)

The Ethernet interface (X101/X102) of the CX8190 Embedded PC supports the EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP). The EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP) is configured in TwinCAT.

Data can be exchanged with other controllers in real-time via the publisher and subscriber services.

Requirements:

Configure the EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP) as follows:

1. In the tree view on the left, right-click on Devices.
2. Click on Add New Item in the context menu.
Configuring the EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP) 1:
The Insert Device window appears.
3. Click on Ethernet in the tree view and select EtherCAT Automation Protocol.

4. Click on the device EtherCAT Automation Protocol on the left in the tree view.
5. Click on the Adapter tab and then on Search.

6. Select the CCAT adapter.
Configuring the EtherCAT Automation Protocol (EAP) 4:
No adapter will be displayed for selection if you have not created a CCAT adapter in TwinCAT. Create a CCAT adapter if you use real-time capable protocols.
