OPC UA

The OPC UA supplement is already installed on the CX8091 in delivery state. No further installation is required. Further information on OPC UA can be found in the supplement description TS6100-0030:

The OPC UA supplement can be used via Ethernet port X001 or via port X101/102.

OPC UA 1:

Memory usage

Check whether the memory (RAM) is adequate for your application.  The Historical Access function may use up all the available memory. We recommend a maximum of 500 variables. The sampling rate for 500 variables is typically less than one second (at approx. 35% CPU load), although it may be higher. It depends on the CPU load of system, amongst other factors.

OPC UA 2:

Recommendations regarding performance

    • On the CX8091 no other supplements such as ModbusTCP or TCP/IP server should be used. These are not installed on the CX8091 in delivery state.
    • It is not advisable to use the BACnet/IP driver at the same time. The BACnet driver is only started if it is configured in the System Manager.
    • Do not install additional software from other manufacturers (third-party) on the CX8091.
    • If it is not possible to follow these recommendations regarding performance, it may be advisable to use a CX with a larger CPU and more memory (RAM) than the CX8091.
